With tiling we pay attention to the condition of the substrate, flatness, adhesion, damp-prone zones, the right choice of adhesive, joint width, tile layout, cutting, fall in wet areas and flexible sealant joints at junctions. Good preparation helps prevent tiles coming loose, cracks and damp problems.

This is a price indication, including the usual fitting, adhesive and grouting, and it depends on the substrate, tile size, type of tile and the specification chosen. Large formats or patterned work can require extra preparation or labour.

Any warranty we give on your job, with its term and what it covers, is always set out in writing in the quote — so you see it in black and white before you agree. The warranty covers our own work: how we carried it out. Manufacturers' warranties on materials and appliances are passed on to you where they apply. If the quote gives no warranty term for (part of) the work, your statutory rights apply — and you keep those in any case: the work must match what was agreed and what you may reasonably expect of it.
The process, step by step

Assessing the room
We look at the substrate, the measurements, your choice of tile and the technical points that need attention.
- Step 2
Preparation
The substrate is checked, cleaned and, where needed, prepared for tiling.
- Step 3
Tile layout
We take account of sight lines, cut tiles, corners, edges and junctions.
- Step 4
Grouting & handover
The tiles are fixed carefully, after which the grouting, the sealant joints and the final check are finished off neatly.
Possible additional work
Depending on the situation, additional work may be needed, such as removing old tiles, repairing the substrate, levelling, applying waterproofing, fitting an uncoupling membrane, correcting the fall, preparing for underfloor heating or extra sealant work. We discuss this with you beforehand, and it is not carried out without your agreement.

Ask a questionYes. We fit wall and floor tiles in bathrooms, toilets, kitchens and other living spaces. What is possible depends on the substrate, the type of tile, the tile size and the finish you want.
Laying natural stone may be possible, depending on the type of stone, the substrate, the application and the finish you want. Natural stone often needs extra attention for the choice of adhesive, protection, maintenance and variation in colour. We discuss this beforehand.
We usually advise ordering extra to allow for cutting waste, breakages and spares. How much extra you need depends on the tile size, the laying pattern, the layout of the room and the number of corners. With patterns, large tiles or natural stone, extra spares can be sensible. We are happy to advise on this for your project.
If the substrate is not flat, stable or suitable for tiling, extra preparation may be needed — repairs, smoothing out, levelling or priming, for example. We assess this beforehand and only include it when it has been discussed or set out in the quote.
Yes, when it forms part of the agreed work, wet zones can be given extra waterproofing. Exactly how it is carried out depends on the room, the substrate and the build-up chosen.
Sealant work is carried out when it is set out in the quote. Sealant joints matter at corners, junctions, sanitary ware and in wet areas, and they need normal maintenance later on.
